The Vera Pizza Contest organized by AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana) has now become a regular appointment, what we can define as the world championship of homemade pizza. An unmissable challenge, after these two years in which the passion for pizza in the world has increased as has the desire to try their hand at preparing it at home. This is demonstrated by the success of the previous editions, which saw the participation of more than 2,000 pizzas from over 50 countries of the world, and the social following that enshrines that now more than ever pizza is one of the topics among foodlovers.
"The incredible success of the past editions has prompted us to organize a third one - explains Antonio Pace, President of AVPN - the Vera Pizza Contest restarts, always with the AVPN specification as a pillar, but this year introduces some innovations such as the possibility to prepare the Vera Pizza Fritta or that of using domestic gas and wood-fired ovens. In addition, the winners of the contest will be directly qualified for the finals of the VeraPizzaNapoletana Olympics, scheduled in Naples from 3 to 6 July, which will be the first competition to see professional and amateurs compete together".
The contest is free and open to everyone, amateurs and professionals. The rules to participate - downloadable from the website - are simple, the basis for preparing the pizza is the AVPN international specification and participants will be free to choose the type, True Neapolitan pizza or True fried pizza and the topping. Whether it is therefore Margherita, Capricciosa or a creative variant, the only mandatory requirement, in addition to the passion for pizza, will be the use of a domestic type oven that is electric, gas or wood and for frying in a pan or in Fryer.
The challenge will be divided into two phases. The first, from 12.00 (GMT + 1) of 24 February until the same time of 24 March 2022. Competitors must follow the Facebook profile and send via Messenger the photo of the proposed pizza, of the oven or fryer in which it was cooked. , as well as of course, the personal details to be able to be registered.
The photos of the pizzas will be published on the Facebook page and voted by users with likes. In the second phase, immediately following, the 50 photos with the highest number of votes will be judged by an international jury made up of 10 master pizza makers from different nations who will decide, at its sole discretion, the final ranking by 30 March.

Those classified from 4th to 10th place will be directly qualified for the finals of the "Amateurs" category of the True Neapolitan Pizza 2022 Olympics, while all the first 50 classified will win free registration to the True Neapolitan Pizza Club.
